Black spot lichen is dissolved with a specialist remover rather than forced off, protecting softer stone, while pointing is inspected as we go and any failures are reported.

How we approach patio cleaning.
Patios collect algae, black spot lichen and barbecue staining that ordinary washing will not lift. We identify the stone type first, then select the correct treatment and pressure for it.
Black spot lichen is treated with a dedicated remover rather than brute force, which would scar softer sandstone. Porcelain is cleaned and rinsed to a streak-free finish.
Pointing is inspected as we work and any failed joints are reported so they can be repaired before winter.
